Welcome to HDRP! Make sure you know all the rules before you are registering or before your making your character.
1.::. Guidelines for Registering/Accounts .::.
1.1 Your character needs to have a First and Last Name. You can however sign-up with any name you desire and change your 'display name' in your 'profile', a link can be found to your profile under the banner. Also please avoid using names that are already use by other members and names from the HP books.
1.2 Make sure you choose a name that will fit the setting we are in. Of course foreign names are allowed. But do not use strange, very rare, unpronounceable or unwritable names. Use of foreign names/backgrounds is only allowed on a small scale.
1.3 You cannot register with more then three accounts. If you will register a fourth, it will not be accepted, unless you want to delete one of your other accounts. If you already have a character, you must notifiy an admin before making a new account!(this rule will not include staff/professor/mod/admin accounts)
1.4 You must be at least 13 years old to register.
2.::. General Rules .::.
2.1No flaming other members in OOC
2.2No spamming, no opening useless threads or unnecessary posting.
2.3 You may not edit messages that have been edited by a moderator/admin
2.4 You may not publicly complain about thread closure/deletion, post deletion, warnings and bans of other members
2.5 You may not provoke flame wars
2.6 We do not allow attacks on staff and members
2.7 No giving out your House Common rooms password.
2.8 Before opening an OOC topic, be sure if this hasn't been discussed before, and if it is really necessary to open such a topic again.
2.9 Do not ask to be a Gmod/Admin/Head Boy/Girl/Prefect, these positions will be given to people by the staff themselves.
3.::. Avatar/Signature Rules .::.
3.1 Avatars maximum size is 100x100 pixels
3.2 When using an Avatar of a celebrity to represent your character, make sure the celebrity isn't claimed already by another member.
3.3 Only one graphic is allowed in your signature. A graphic in your signature can’t be bigger then 400x300 pixels
3.4 Please use an Avatar & Signature which represents your character, altho other signatures are allowed. And please prevent using to widely known celebrities.
3.5 An Image, together with text is allowed
3.6 It is Forbidden to Advertise in your signature, this counts for every board/site. You can advertise in the appropriate board.
4.::. RolePlaying Rules .::.
4.1 Characters can't be 100% flawless, also there will no God-Moding taking place. This means characters can't be hurt in any way, like spells bounce of all the time, there own spells always hit target and they have more power then You-Know-Who, well we can't have that, do we? ^^ For this you'll get a warning, after 3th warning your expelled.
4.2 Powerplaying is forbidden. This means you cannot play the actions or speech of anyone else, but your own character. We will be nice and simply ask you to change your post if you do so.
4.3 Only use magic that also would be used in the Harry Potter books/movies. Elemental magic or anything related to that is forbidden. You can look up on spells in the 'Wizarding Information' board.
4.4 Be realistic!!! You are still a student here, so keep your powers and intelligence at a reasonable level. You cannot know everything, and have powers that will blow Voldemort's pants off. This also means to respect your teachers :wink:.
5.::. Posting Roleplays .::.
5.1 Oneliners are ABSOLUTLY FORBIDDEN
5.2 Posts should be longer then about 8 lines, also use try using paragraphs.
5.3 When you start a thread, make the post at least 10 lines or longer, preferable two paragraphs.
5.4 Be descriptive when you are roleplaying. Not only roleplay what you are saying, but also what your character feels, describe your surroundings, what your character thinks of that other person. Give the person(s) who you are roleplaying with, something to roleplay WITH.
5.5 Post in third person, so do not post in 'chat' form.
5.6 Do not use Glow or to brightly colored text
5.7 The Edit Button is your friend, do not double post in RP
5.8 Please use proper grammar, spelling and punctuation. Of course we understand that not everyone's first language is English. But it's hard to RolePlay if you can't understand another student. (this also counts in OOC boards)
5.9 Do not take Authority into your own hands. Leave any mishaps for the admins and mods to handle.

If you have read the rules, include 'penguins rule, I even more' below in your CAF, so I know you read these rules.
I hope I wasn't too hard in this, but if you follow these rules and guidelines, you will have no trouble with us  . And most important of all, the rules will maintain our community as we know it now. Friendly and welcoming to new members.
