I myself think that HogwartsDreamRP needs some explanation. Not only because you can't find a plot anywhere here on HDRP, but also because HDRP has a history that goes back to around beginning 2005, in bulletpoints I shall try to explain what HogwartsDreamRP stands for.
The History
HogwartsDreamRP was first formed around the end of May 2005. The board was created by me, Headmistress ShinLi and Professor Lonneke, who now isn't a member on the board anymore. We started out as a one liner HP RPG. It was very fun and I was in the beginning of learning somewhat to write better English. As I also joined other RPG's I saw that a lot of boards didn't like oneliners, and so I started to get used to write at least a paragraph of RP. And soon the HDRP members did the same. After server problems in the summer of 2005 I decided to go over to Invisionfree and so we left this board behind.
On Sunday 20 novemeber I clicked on the bookmark to this board and suddenly got the idea 'wouldn't it be too fun to get this RPG going again?' At the time the fun was amazing, all the staff and loyal members had a crazy ammount of RPG character, we were almost online at all times whenever we could.
And so after consulting McG (Dubby) and Melly (Melissa Tudor), I decided to redo HDRP. With the intent of getting some fun back into RP'ing.
And so what is the purpose of HDRP then?
Fun...
Fun and crazyness, that's basically the point of HDRP. It's all about having fun with your character and other members. There is no plot, just a general futuristic setting for Hogwarts so that we won't have any cannons invovled. To have fun with eachother, roleplaying and developing your character, to escape from the daily-life of school or work, what more do you want?
HDRP is based on quality over quantity. We expect people to be intermediate to advanced RP'ers. But at the same time we do not require a lot more of them. We don't ask them to get involved with a board wide plot. Members can decide their own plot's. Decide how they want to develope their character and with who to roleplay and form relationships with.
Fun and crazyness, a touch of quality roleplaying and a tight community, these are the foundations of HogwartsDreamRP.
